Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on the Sprint Galaxy S4 – How to Install and Review

Sprint is now pushing out the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update on the Samsung Galaxy S4! There is an update zip that can be downloaded to manually install the update. Below is the official “changelog” from Samsung and also a video going over the changes in Android 4.3.

Make sure to transfer the zip file to a micro sd card, otherwise stock recovery will not see it. If you have a custom recovery, I recommend waiting for a developer to post a stock rooted rom.

i did the update with the zip provided here and it installed it. When it was finished installing all the packets and such it said “Error!” under Andy the robot. then it rebooted and currently is upgrading/optimizing my apps. So hopefully the error didnt really break anything in my future user experience.

  6. DrAllreeds says:

I used the zip file method and was able to get to android 4.3 I can’t find Users under settings to set up a restricted profile, and can’t find KNOX anywhere on my phone. Will there be another update to get those items? Or did Samsung and Sprint remove them from the 4.3 update? Help!

I used the same zip file and I also didn’t get Knox. It shows in the device administrators and the application manager but there is no app. I’m not sure if it has to do with when the update was done it said error.

      • DrAllreeds says:

I saw KNOX under device admins and app manager, but no program or settings. Maybe it’s just for tablets? Or maybe a new update will add it to phones. Thanks for the help!
