Android 4.4 KitKat on the Samsung Galaxy S3

Sprint has now released Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the Samsung Galaxy S3, and will soon come to other carriers as well! I went ahead and reviewed some of the new features this OS update brings.

Below is a download for the official update zip for Android 4.4.2 KitKat for the SPRINT model only. Put the zip on your micro SD card and boot into recover and hit update and find the file.

So I downloaded the Sprint update zip from this site, put it on my external SD card, booted into recovery mode and found the update folder but then I have four choices – which one do I select?

And after that will there be more choices? Or am I just doing something wrong?

Generally best to put it into the root so that the zip file is obvious when you go to the external card.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it out yesterday. I unzipped the file before putting it on my phone the first time. Someone told me to leave it zipped so I did that and now it’s updated. I’m somewhat disappointed in this update though. My 4g at my house was pretty much non existent last night. Before it would at least come and go but last night while using my phone it was on 4g for a total of maybe one minute.
