Glow: The First Smart Headphones with Laser Light
These headphones definitely caught my eye (and ears). “Glow” is a product that is one of its kind. These headphones have a laser light embedded in them that can pulse. One of the main reasons I would see myself using these would be when out at night. It would be so easy for cars etc. to see you while out running, biking, walking, etc. I also love that they are focusing on integration with Android. Being a heavy Android user music controls on the headphones themselves is a fantastic touch. Check out the Kickstarter below.
The first smart headphones that glow with laser light, Glow pulses brilliantly to the beat of your favorite music or to the rhythm of your heart. An intuitive 5-way controller allows you to not just control your music, but also make calls, text, and use apps with ease.

The headphones use a new light diffusing fiber from Corning called Fibrance. The fiber is a glass optical fiber optimized for thin, colorful, aesthetic lighting. The flexibility and tight-bend capability of the fiber allows it to curve, wrap, or contour around objects while maintaining bright and uniform light. Also, the fiber is so small and thin it is nearly invisible when the light source is off, thereby enhancing a product’s overall aesthetics and user experience. Using Fibrance we have created a flexible and thin headphone wire that feels natural and looks beautifully radiant. The headphones are built around a custom audio processing engine, the headphone wires pulsate to the beat of listeners music or—using data from the integrated heart rate sensor—to their heartbeat.
Glow also offers superior sound quality. Designed around a pair of premium balanced armature drivers, the headphones let you hear every high and low loud and clear for a fully immersive listening experience. Glow stacks up quite nicely to other headphones in the category, Sennheiser, Beats, Sony etc. at a competitive price.
At the core of Glow Headphones is a 5-way controller that connects to your phone over Bluetooth low energy (BLE) to control the music playback, raise or lower the volume, move backwards and forwards through music tracks as well as remotely control phone apps. You can even bring up “OK Google” on Android or Siri on iOS-powered phones.
