Try the version without graphical interface (1.2 at time of writing). The GUI version didn’t work for me with the same failure mode.

Make sure the correct drivers are installed and no conflicting drivers are installed. Use something like USB Deview to see what it is discovered as, if ti’s not what you expect, uninstall those and reinstall correct ones. This went wrong on mine(I use debugging drivers for actual debugging in android studio and have drivers for piles of devices installed, including other LG phones). It didn’t fail in this particular way, but with the “right” wrong driver it could.

Make sure the “power down, power up while holding volume-up” actually puts you in download mode (and then firmware upgrade mode). This worked fine this time, but I’ve done it tons of times and it’s anything but foolproof, the G2 isn’t the easiest phone to do this on and it’s pretty easy to accidentally just boot, put it in safe mode, or some other version.

All I got, head over to xda and see what else there is.

(I realize the poster has probably succeeded or given up by now, but this is a page 1 google hit for the topic so I’m sure it’s not just a one-off)

Hi, tim. i’m having issue with hotspot on G2 4.4.2KK LS980ZVD outside US carrier. can you please suggest what can i do to have fix it? there is no startup LOGO like Sprint/AT&T/Verizone.

  5. golgo1313 says:

I’ve got a Sprint variant updated to lollipop. Both the GUI and and script versions don’t seem to work. Tried MTP and USB connect. It does find it, reboots, but just like you, i have to manually put it into download mode. Then it says, found rooting, but the 0% never proceeds beyond that on my phone after 5 mins. It looks like you skipped it on your vid. How long does it take?

  6. Muhammad Gulfam says:
