Manually Update the Nexus 7 to Android 4.4 KitKat

You will need to make sure you have the Android SDK tools and ADB installed on your PC.

If your PC isn’t recognizing your device (DEVICE NOT FOUND), install these drivers:

NOTE: This is the exact same as if you accepted the OTA update from Google, just done manually. No data will be wiped. I am not responsible for any damage done to your device.

If I use Nova Prime on my N7, is it really worth it for me to update this before I eventually get the OTA update? From everything I’ve read it seems that the most significant aspects of KitKat deal with the launcher…and if I’m not using a stock launcher, it sounds like it doesn’t really matter.
Anybody else on Prime with the update? Is it worth it?
