How to add an Exchange account in Gmail 5.0 on Moto X (2014) and Lollipop
If you’re like me and you use an exchange account for your home or work email, then it’s probably one of the first things you usually set up on your new phone. Gmail, who just updated to version 5.0, has added support for an Exchange account. I was very excited to get my work email up and to run on the new and improved Gmail app. Everything worked flawlessly on my Nexus 5 and Nexus 9 but when I tried to do the same thing on my Moto X (2014), I noticed that this feature was nowhere to be found. After digging around, I finally found something that worked. Here is how to add an exchange account in Gmail on your Moto X or any Android phone running Lollipop.
Step 1: Disable Gmail.
Step 2: Download and install Exchange Services Update 6.5
Step 3: Download and install Gmail 5.0
Step 4: Go to the Google Play Store and update the app to 5.0.1
Upon completing these steps, you should be presented with the option to add an Exchange account.
These steps should work for any device that has been updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop and isn’t using a Nexus device. Enjoy!
